What changes the price
A custom folding fan price depends on materials, printing work, quantity, packing and delivery. We quote the selected specification and quantity. Compare the details that change the work and the complete delivered cost.
| Cost driver | Why the cost can change |
|---|---|
| Size and construction | A larger fan can use more surface material and longer frame pieces. Its folded size also affects packaging dimensions and how fans fit into cartons. |
| Material and finish | Paper or fabric, frame material, thickness and finishing change the components and work required. A material name alone does not define an equivalent specification. |
| Printing method and sides | Printing the reverse adds work. With screen printing, separate color screens need preparation and alignment; other methods have different setup costs. |
| Artwork versions | Different designs need separate file checks and may need separate printing setups. Splitting the same total quantity can increase preparation per fan. |
| Color matching and revisions | A specific match may need physical print checks. Repeated changes can require another proof or sample rather than only a file edit. |
| Packaging and assembly | Printed packs add artwork and printing work. Inserts, finishing and putting each fan into its pack add further steps. Flat packs leave assembly to someone else. |
Multicolor screen printing needs separate screens and alignment. Digital printing has different setup requirements, so ask how the selected method affects your quote.
Ask for the complete order cost
A useful quote separates the fans from any one-time charges and optional work. Confirm whether the following are included, charged separately or not required:
- Artwork preparation, printing setup or tooling that applies to the proposed design.
- Samples, sample shipping and any requested revision.
- Individual packaging, inserts, labels and packing labor.
- Export cartons and any special packing requested by the receiver.
- Shipping to the named destination and any charges excluded from that offer.
A blank line is not confirmation that a service is free. If a sample fee may be credited to a bulk order, ask for the amount and conditions in writing. Do not subtract an unconfirmed credit from the budget.
Choose what can be simplified
Protect the feature that makes the fan useful: readable artwork, a suitable size, comfortable handling or gift presentation. Then price alternatives for the less important details.
- Use an available fan construction, if suitable, and customize the printed surface.
- Keep one shared artwork version where separate versions add little value.
- Compare simple protective packaging with a printed gift box, including packing labor.
An event program may need clear printing more than a decorated frame. A gift may need its box as much as the fan. These are buying priorities, not promises of a particular saving.

Compare quotes for the same specification
Keep the quantity and fan specification the same when comparing quotes. Ask us to show optional changes separately so the price difference is easy to understand.
| Compare | Details that must match |
|---|---|
| Fan construction | Closed length, open width, leaf material, frame and finish |
| Printing | Print area, printed sides, process and quantity per artwork version |
| Color approval | Required color target and physical sample review |
| Packaging | Sleeve or box, inserts, labels and packing labor |
| Delivery | Destination, included transport, local charges and exclusions |
Reverse printing, extra artwork versions and fitted gift packaging add different work. Ask for those changes to be priced separately rather than judging the fan unit price alone. A port price and delivery to your warehouse also cover different services.
Count work left to your team
A lower packing price can mean your team must assemble boxes, insert every fan, attach tags or sort designs. Confirm whether boxes arrive flat or assembled, and whether the fans are packed inside.
Try one complete pack before choosing local assembly. Check fit, removal and the time needed to finish it. Include staff, space and any separate delivery of packaging in the comparison. Keep the supplier-packed option if the remaining work would cost more or put the event preparation at risk.
Buy the quantity you can use
A lower unit price at a larger quantity does not necessarily reduce your total spend. Compare the final order totals and decide whether the extra fans have a real use.
Names, dates and campaign messages can make surplus stock unsuitable for another event. For repeat use, consider whether some artwork can stay the same and request a separate quote for any event-specific addition. Keep the larger order only if its total cost, storage and likely use make sense.
